Why your town matters

Idaho Weather Wears Doors Differently by Town

The Treasure Valley swings from below 10°F overnight to the low 40s by afternoon. How hard that hits your springs, seals and tracks depends on where you live.

Mountain Home

Higher elevation, harsher swings

Springs go through harder thermal cycling here than in central Boise, so we check spring tension more carefully on every Mountain Home job.

Boise, Eagle, Garden City

Hard cycling and high-desert dust

Fine dust works into tracks and roller bearings year-round, and winter contraction tightens the clearance around them.

Caldwell and Nampa

Slightly milder, still hard freezes

Freeze-thaw cycles still stiffen bottom seals and open gaps under the door through the winter.

It can. Mountain Home sits higher than central Boise and sees harsher temperature swings, which is harder on springs. Nampa and Caldwell are slightly milder but still freeze hard. Our Idaho climate guide covers it in detail.
